EXPO CHICAGO, the International Exposition of Contemporary/Modern Art and Design, now invites active media representatives to apply for press credentials.
EXPO CHICAGO will host an exclusive list of the world’s premier galleries in Chicago September 20–23, 2012 in Festival Hall at Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Avenue.
Chicago has a rich art fair legacy. It also is home to world-renowned institutions such as the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Renaissance Society and is center for numerous international stars and new generation of artists are now having their moment. EXPO CHICAGO builds on this legacy, and thus has garnered tremendous civic support as well as regional, national and international interest in its inaugural year.
Under the leadership of President and Director, Tony Karman, the new fair will open the international fall arts season and once again establish Chicago as a preeminent art fair and cultural destination. Karman solicited Studio Gang Architects, led by MacArthur Fellow Jeanne Gang, to assist in the creation of EXPO CHICAGO’s design-forward interior environment. Navy Pier’s unparalleled views of Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago provide the perfect backdrop for her design and the inaugural exposition.
