Walk the Line explores notions of walking, an inevitable action with both a route and a destination. Yet walking the line is more difficult to define, as we don’t know where it will lead us. The exhibition examines this risk, “as it involves the body in the course of something not yet planned.”

The theme of the exhibition is balance: finding or reaching equilibrium. Equilibrium can refer to forces working in opposite directions to achieve inaction, harmony in the distribution of things, or the simple lack of supporting something, which maintains standing.

Walk the Line grapples with questions about balance, bodies, weight, forces, tensions and influences in search of the delicate but sought after state of equilibrium. The five artists bring together different ideas around this central theme; some of their works were already produced while others were created especially for the show. The exhibition itself is configured in an unexpected way, making it work with its own balance.

Curated by Marlon de Azambuja, Walk the Line offers the possibility of the unthinkable and the unpredictable.
