EXPO CHICAGO is proud to present McCormick Gallery as an exhibiting gallery for our September debut. McCormick Gallery and Vallarino Fine Art are pleased to present the first comprehensive exhibition of work from the estate of Jack Roth (1927 – 2004).
Roth was a multi-tasking painter, photographer, poet, collagist, poet, professor, Guggenheim Fellow and PhD mathematician. He worked with Mark Rothko and Clyfford Still in San Francisco in the late 40s and was represented by M. Knoedler & Co. in New York in the 1980s. His style spanned Abstract Expressionism to color field.
The exhibition is on view through October 13, 2012 with a special opening reception Friday, September 21, 6-8pm. Please see the publication page for information on the 120-page catalog that is available.
Located in the West Loop Gallery District, McCormick Gallery offers an inventory of 20th century and contemporary art. With a specialty in Abstract Expressionism, McCormick Gallery represents a number of wonderful artists from the period of 1940 through the 1960s.
